Girl Scouts can learn about the care and preservation of books by completing the requirements of a Scout badge. The setting is in your local library or school library. The librarians and the scout leader can work together to provide activities for the girls in the sleep-over setting of the library, and by the next morning, the requirements for the badge can be fulfilled.
The requirements for the "Books" badge are outlined in the Girl Scout Badges and Signs. Six activities need to be completed to achieve the badge. The following are some preservation-related activities that can be used to meet the requirements.
