Local Grant Proposals

·         Marlo Young and Katy Farrell, “Connecting with the Net Generation: Learning Styles & Technology,” funding requested for production of a presentation at an ACRL workshop on April 9th.  Funded March 2005.

·         Katy Farrell and Allie Emigh-Carr, “Assessment of the Get Started! At the UCSD Libraries,” funding for a study that will appear in a book chapter.  Funded April 2005.

Statewide Grant Proposals Approved

R&PD-SD, in cooperation with R&PD committees university-wide, reviewed three statewide LAUC/UCOP proposals. Penny was the UCSD representative on the statewide committee, and she traveled to UCOP in Oakland on March 4th  to meet to review all three proposals with all the UC representatives.   One was rejected because the group felt the project should have been funded by the library unit and staff where it originated.  Two were accepted for funding after some revisions were made:

1.       Lillian Castillo-Speed and Yolanda Retter Vargas.  “Revision of the Chicano Thesaurus.”  Campus: Berkeley and Los Angeles.

2.       Jaeyong Chang.  “The Phase II of the Korean Diaspora: An Annotated Bibliography and Its Database.”  Campus:  Berkeley
