     1996 - Information includes tables on gross shipments, net of shipments and
     inventories by type of producer. Data are shown on the inventories, quantity and
     value of shipments and on the number of companies reporting shipments, by type

     -1996 SUMMARY - Annual report summarizes monthly data and notes revisions
     on a calendar year basis. Tables include data on consumption and stocks of
     cotton, man-made fiber staple by type of material, and stocks of cotton held at
     public storage and at compresses. Another table presents data on cotton spindles
     in place and spindle hours operated by major kind of business and type of fiber
     spun. Exports and imports of cotton, linters, and manmade fiber staple and tow
