The Low-Down on High-Tech Tutorials
by
Elizabeth A. Dupuis
Join us for a lively discussion about a range of topics related to web-based library tutorials. The first session will focus on why design issues are important for well-developed and effective educational sites. A brief overview of theories and key principles for web design and instructional design will kick-off the morning's discussion, including specifics about setting objectives, sequencing ideas, moving content to the web, and interactivity.
Our second session, after lunch, will focus on planning and implementing large-scale web-based tutorials. A checklist of issues such as scope, audience, goals, timeline, resources, technology, partners, and evaluation will be covered. Come spend an afternoon with colleagues getting the low-down on high-tech library instruction.
Elizabeth Dupuis is currently Head of the Digital Information Literacy Office at the University of Texas at Austin.
