Dissertation Abstracts
Lists most Ph.D dissertations granted in the U.S. since 1861, in all fields, over 1.2 million as of 1996. Thousands of Canadian dissertations are included selectively, and, since 1988, British and Continental European ones as well. Master's theses are listed selectively from 1988 onward. Abstracts included since 1980.

English Short Title Catalog (ESTC)
Pre-1700 and Eighteenth Century imprints.
Connect by typing USE EUREKA and then CHOOSE ESTC at the MELVYL System's main screen.

GPO Database (GDOC)
Indexes U.S. Government Printing Office documents. 1976-present.
Connect by typing USE GDOC at the MELVYL System's main screen.
For a different interface, type USE FIRSTSEARCH, then choose GPO.

PapersFirst (PAPR)
Contains over 580,000 citations for individual papers presented at conferences all over the world, in a variety of disciplines and languages. Updated monthly. 10/93 to present.
Connect by typing PAPR at the MELVYL System's main screen.

ProceedingsFirst (PROC)
Use to view records for entire proceedings of conferences all over the world, in a variety of disciplines and languages. (Each record provides a list of individual papers, but you cannot search by the authors or titles of papers.) 10/93 to present. Updated monthly.
Connect by typing PROC at the MELVYL System's main screen.
