Annual Subscription: $3,000

Journal Articles

We provide photocopies of journal articles, government documents, book chapters, and items on microfilm or microfiche, U.S. copyright law permitting:

$8 fee per the first 50 pages for UCSD-owned items ($.07/page thereafter), plus exact copyright royalty fees per item. This fee is in turn paid to the Copyright Clearance Center.
Items photocopied by other libraries are available to members for an $8 service fee plus costs assessed by the other library including copyright royalty fees.

Citation Verification

If you have only partial or incorrect information about a particular book or article, we may need to perform a little bibliographic detective work to get a full description. This service for members is AT COST (online database charges only).

In-Depth Research/Online Searching

Members pay $30 for the first hour of research by a professional librarian, and $30 per additional half hour.

Research Results

We charge a $5 fee for printing each 50 pages of online search results, or for downloading the results of your search to a disk. Faxing or emailing results is FREE.

Book Loans

Send us as much information on a book as you have and we get it for you, or if you have limited information, we'll do the confirmation for you:

UCSD-owned items are sent to members at NO CHARGE.
Items borrowed from other libraries are available to members for an $8 service fee, plus any additional costs assessed by the library that owns the material. Postage included.
The borrowing period for most items is one month, with two free opportunities to renew for another month (if no other patrons are waiting).

Purchase of Reports, Patents, and Dissertations Unavailable by Loan

Provided AT COST to Corporate Associates Program members--no service fees.

Delivery Options

RUSH (same-day) service is FREE. This is the single most cost-effective reason for becoming a member.
First class postage and handling--FREE.
FAX transmissions are FREE.
Courier service within San Diego County is available AT COST.
Federal Express service is available AT COST.

Library Cards

Up to 20 full-service library cards per year, allowing renewals, recalls, holds.

Parking Privileges

One courtesy permit per year, with faculty-level privileges.
