California Digital Library (CDL)
> CDL Profile
Setting up a personal account with the CDL. Why use Profile? To save your searches across multiple sessions, to store your e-mail address and other information. Required if you want to use Update - see below.

> CDL Update
Current awareness tool for keeping up with the literature. Store searches and have them automatically run when new information is added to a CDL database, such as MEDLINE, BIOSIS, etc. Information about new articles is automatically e-mailed to you.

Information about using the Request function inside CDL databases to generate Interlibrary Loan requests.

MEDLINE
The premier North American database for searching the journal literature of biomedical and health services research.

A self-guided tutorial from UCLA featuring instructions in one frame and a live session on the MEDLINE/Healthstar database from the California Digital Library in the other frame. Note: graphics have not been updated since CDL MEDLINE was redesigned, and some new features are not discussed.

These are manuals and workbooks used in NLM's training programs for MEDLINE via PubMed and Internet Grateful Med. There are PDF, WordPerfect and PostScript versions available.

A major database covering the literature of the biological and biomedical sciences.
NOTE: BIOSIS's structure is changing this Summer-Fall. Read about changes here.

California Digital Library (CDL) Database system
Formerly the MELVYL System
>MELVYL System via the Web [now CDL]
The CDL encompasses the system formerly known as the MELVYL System, where many of our major library databases reside. This guide helps understand basic navigation of this system. Guide is by UC Berkeley.

Bibliographic Software Not strictly a tutorial, but we do offer some tips on using bibliographic software such as End-Note and Reference Manager with library databases.
