Pediatric Database (PEDBASE)
Contains descriptions of over 550 childhood illnesses. Sources include the NELSON TEXTBOOK OF PEDIATRICS, the BIRTH DEFECTS ENCYCLOPEDIA, and other materials. Created and maintained by Alan Gandy MD, PhD, FRCP(C), a Canadian pediatrician.

Pediatric Pathology
Topics include epidemiology of pediatric diseases, perinatology and perinatal diseases, congenital abnormalities, and pediatric tumors. Includes numerous high quality images. Information provided by Margret S. Magid, MD, Department of Pathology, Cornell University Medical College.

Paediapaedia: An Imaging Encyclopedia of Pediatric Disease
Searchable radiology handbook intended for radiology residents and practitioners with limited experience in pediatric radiology. Contains numerous radiographic images.

Pediatric Oncology Branch, National Cancer Institute
An overview of the types of treatments available for children with cancer, and of the research conducted at the Pediatric Oncology Branch. "Other Sites of Interest" provides links to the PDQ Database (up-to-date information about specific types of cancer), and the NATIONAL CANCER INSTITUTE FACTBOOK, a good source of cancer statistics.

Pediatric HIV Disease
This is Section 8 from THE AIDS KNOWLEDGE BASE, a textbook on HIV disease from the University of California, San Francisco, and the San Francisco General Hospital. Includes subsections on diagnosis and treatment.

America's Children: Key National Indicators of Well-Being 1999
Statistics and other information on the well-being of children including six key demographic measures and 23 key indicators of well-being of children in the areas of economic security, health, behavior and social environment, and education.

American Academy of Pediatrics
Includes the Recommended Childhood Immunization Schedule, car safety information (air bags and car seats), and a Pediatrician Referral Service. Also includes The Best of the Pediatric Internet, a select collection of well-annotated pediatric Internet resources.

American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP)
Includes summaries of the AACAP practice parameters, and the full text of over fifty "Facts for Families," fact sheets that provide concise and up-to-date information on issues that affect children, teenagers, and their families.

National Attention Deficit Disorder Association
Provides information on research, treatment, and legal issues. Includes an extensive bibliography broken down by audience (parents, children and adolescents, professionals and teachers) and a listing of support groups by state.

National Pediatric & Family HIV Resource Center (NPHRC) at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey
Provides fact sheets and other full-text documents, information on educational and funding opportunities, and a question and answer section that allows input from the public. Intended for health and social service professionals.

National Institute of Child Health and Human Development
Provides information for the public on a wide variety of topics. Also, includes a link to the Pediatric Pharmacology Research Unit Network which "serves as an advisory body to the pharmaceutical industry, regulatory agencies, health professionals and the public on the appropriate use of drugs in children."
