Six Senses Six Senses
Medical sites on many topics, reviewed on several criteria, including interactivity, stability, content, and overall "experience".

Magellan Magellan
Health section of a large collection of rated and reviewed sites. Includes a search engine as well as listings of "family friendly" Web sites.


Exhaustive
These are sites which present as many health and medical resources as possible, some with little evaluation of a site's content or authoritativeness.

    Organized like a Yahoo! service specializing in health and medicine.

  • BioCrawler
    Database with search and browse functions featuring over 7000 sites in biology and related disciplines.   This site is operated in Germany and is especially helpful in locating resources outside North America (but covers lots of American sites as well).

  • CSU BioWeb
    Lists resources in many biology-related subjects.

  • Diseases - MeSH Classified
    Uses the same biomedical subject vocabulary as MEDLINE and the UCSD ROGER Catalog.

  • Martindale's Health Science Guide - Medical Resources (UC Irvine)

  • Med Web - Emory University
    Choose Browse for subject listings.

  • Medical Matrix
    Especially good for locating information about e-mail and Usenet discussion groups in Medicine.

  • Medical Specialties (EINet Galaxy)

  • OMNI: Organising Medical Networked Information
    A database of nearly 2,000 Internet sites in health and medicine. The site can be used by searching, as well as browsing through subjects, including MeSH subject terms (the same vocabulary used in MEDLINE) and even NLM Classification numbers (the same system used to arrange the books at the Biomedical and Medical Center Libraries)! Also features a search engine for locating material not in their database. The site is in the UK and can be slow.

    Part of the WWW Virtual Library project, broken down by further topics.

    Part of the WWW Virtual Library project, this site is maintained at Oregon Health Sciences University.

  • Yahoo - Health
    Choose Medicine for professional resources, Diseases and Conditions for resources on particular disorders.
