- Features several database sources. An example is the
Center for Environmental Information and Statistics databases, featuring county-level environmental
profiles, maps, and more.
-
Science Information System
- Provided by the USDA and the Biological Resources Division of the USGS, this database covers research
projects.
-
Southwest Ecoregion Planning Group
- Site sponsored by a group of federal, state, and local agencies and non-governmental organizations, in order
to provide a resource for researchers, agency personnel, and other interested individuals seeking information about
the Southwest ecoregion. Included is a searchable database of research and monitoring projects, as well as biological
and other data sets.
-
Threatened Animals of the World
- From the World Conservation Monitoring Centre
-
Toxics Release Inventory
- Part of the TOXNET toxicology information service from the National Library of Medicine, this is an annual
compilation of information about environmental releases of over 500 toxic substances. Searchable by substance, location,
facility (ie, company or organization). The EPA's own Web site gives other
digested information from TRI, including reports by industry type.

Library Catalog Searches
Choosing one of the following links will send you to the UCSD Libraries' ROGER catalog and
run a search for books, whole journals, and other items on that subject. You can then use the
"Limit" option on the ROGER screen to narrow down the search by date, type of material,
library location, etc. These subject headings are presented here as good starting points.
Once in ROGER, you may want to try other search strategies to meet your particular needs.
